For my reconstruction video I was originally going to use the London riots, however going around and smashing and trashing things even if it wasn't to such a large scale.
I decided to use the 7 7 bombings in 2005 as my base and as I was going to London and would be using the tube I thought I would I could film my journeys and then add in footage from news clips around the time of the attacks.
I wanted it to be un obvious about what was going on, but then at a certain point in the video it would become very clear, even without seeing the news footage.
I used a soundtrack of my tube journeys as I recored a total of 5 minutes wild track whilst on the train. However I wanted there to be a slight difference when the news footage was being shown so I looked online for bars and tone remixes.
I found one that was 12 minutes long and had a section that sounded similar to the train however different enough for it to make a change to the tone of the video.
I think it adds a scary inception type feel to that part of the video, making the theme of the video more prominent.
At first I wanted the news footage to be weaved in with my shots and maybe have it faded within it, however none of my shots matched the news footage enough, so as that wouldn't have worked I took a different approach and made it more dramatic and built it up to the ending where it says; 'Every Journey Matters' to give the message of the unexpected things that could happen. At first I didn't want there to be a strong meaning per say but it turned out that way when I was editing it together.
