Reflecting on Reflections

Throughout this unit of work the theme has been memory. It was recommended not to make it too personal, so not to include yourself however I wanted to base my work on something that is significant to me. 
My photography project changed a lot before my final idea and there was a lot of development regarding the theme. 
At first my idea was very uni based and it would have been complicated to do and wouldn't be that effective, basically a lot of work for nothing. I then dropped that idea and came up with the idea of first memories and how as an adult you don't really remember doing something for the first time. 

With contacts in Italy I decided to make my project global and get reports from Italians who have only ever been to the UK specifically London once. Thus their memories would be from the first time they have been and the only time they had ever been. I asked for the reports in italian so the language barrier would be a problem then I would have to find the place they described without knowing the exact location and landmark. 

I am really pleased with the outcome of this, however I think some of my photos could have been better, however as photography is not my strong point I am happy with how it turned out. 
I would have liked to have been able to do more photographs and if I had a little bit more time got more accounts and gone to a variety of places. It was lucky that all the people that participated were on the same trip so they went to the same paces. I think it would have been really cool to get it from different countries and make the series bigger and from all over the world, however with the time and only access to Italian accounts I had to stick with that. 

With regards to the film I think it turned out okay, and we all worked really well in a team. It seemed to be quite a rush because of how we over complicated the idea but generally it went okay. I think if we had more time and more money it would have been really cool to recreate a music video of some sort as that would have been fun.

If I did the project again I would have planned the photography better and that way had more time to do it and then with the film I would have chosen a different original clip that was more interesting perhaps to keep the audience interested.
