FROM 25TH SEPTEMBER
thank god it's only 15 minutes.
okay it's with her mum, I don't, oh wait... the translation has started.
I really don't get this, im too tired for this, god.
right so; reading of her letters -> when the war was going on?
her dad is angry? (good one)
what a nice length!
nope still going
Highlights the things that go on during war that media doesn't cover.
2 different languages
people who have been involved during the war/wars. A personal story but at the same time not really because it can be relevant to a lot of women.
OPEN WORK, that can be relatable to a lot of people.
Mundane conversations that have been made more public, kept in the dark by dominant ideology/
mixture of sound and images, no film used - works really well, very effective.
metaphorically taps into maps and journeys.
(it's a metaphor hazel grace)
Through re reading my notes I can see how my opinion changed of this work, throughout it, I approached it close minded at first however when I got the concept it was a lot more easy for me to understand.
I really like the use of photography and the letters overlaying the photos, along with the voice overs it was a really detailed piece of work.
I really liked the themes behind it and how complex it would seem at first but how simple it was in terms of the message it was trying to get across.
